HOW TO REALLY SOLVE PROBLEMS AND MAKE BIG MONEY

How to really solve problems and make big money really touches upon many aspects of life. Fine it is really important in sales but what about your company’s morale, your personal life etc…

Our problem is that we are all racing to give an answer before we’ve really asked enough questions to find the true problem to solve. I think we get this from being trained at school as kids where we were rewarded by being the fastest hand in the draw to answer a question.

What you need to do is break that habit. We are so quick to come up with answers that we kick ourselves later for wasting precious money and time.

Sit down and spend enough time and effort to unfold the whole problem. What seemed like the problem could only be a symptom. The way to do this is to keep asking questions and explore all the angles of a problem. Its like a blind fold test where two different people are given German Chocolate Cake but one only tastes the frosting and assumes it only tastes like coconut while the other only tastes the chocolate cake and insists it only tastes like that.

Both are missing the whole picture because they stopped asking questions and made an immediate assumption or “solution” to what they were eating.

When you are trying to find a solution to a problem you should spend 80% of the time figuring out what is the real problem. If you ask enough questions, you’ll get a look at the whole situation.

The next time you are trying to solve a problem and someone interrupts you with a quick solution politely say “yeah that sounds great but please let me muddle through all of it so that we can get a grasp of the whole picture”. It works miracles and gets people to know that there is more to the story.

Have you found that people want to throw in their solution before you’ve finished your explanations? What have you done to stop it from happening? Do you ask enough questions before you resolve to solve your problems or your customers problems?
