Time just flies by. I get up in a blur and go to sleep in the wee hours of the morning and yet my to do list gets longer and longer. What I've discovered is that it doesn't make a difference whether I stress out big time or just let the little things go. When I allowed stress to command my days and my deadlines drive me bananas, I kept getting sick and i think I aged 20 years.
When I finally made the revelation that being stressed did not equal more quality output things have gotten better. Every parent knows that balancing life, children and work is no easy feat. What you need to do is cut out all of the excess nonsense we do to just fill up a day. I also find that allowing your children to have a relaxing moment doing a favorite thing is good for you to!
I think that guilt is a powerful enemy. We feel guilty all the time for not being that perfect parent and that perfect career woman. Well throw all of that stress inducing junk out the window! You just can't do everything!
Make a list of all the important must dos in a day. Then cut out all of the rest. We don't live forever and our children don't stay little for long. Stop and smell the roses just get wicked focus to give yourself the time to be concise and produce quality work when its work time or quality family time when its time to do that. Oh yeah, make sure that you schedule in some YOU time even if its for a few minutes.
