Have you watched the news lately? We are definitely in a Recession. Tomorrow is Black Friday when retailers can finally have black ink in their books.

This Recession is not going to disappear overnight. Given these hard times I thought that a Recession Christmas would be a good article. What should you do for Christmas when you can hardly pay your bills or you are so upside down in debt that you can't swim?

Here are 5 Things To Remember for This Recession Christmas

1. Love is the greatest gift of all so instead of worrying about how you can't afford the latest toy craze for your child spend the day giving them one-on-one attention. Read to them. Do crafts together. Make a meal or cookies together. Sing holiday songs. Put on the radio and dance to the holiday music.

2. Handmade are things that are wellmade. Just think about things that you can make to give as gifts. What are you good at? Painting, crafts, cooking, cleaning etc... then gift your loved ones with it or a certificate for it.

3. Homemade meals are the meals most infused with love and care. Forget going out to fancy meals and keep your dollars at home. You can also save money on gas.

4. Get inspired by nature and gift a special place of beauty you find by taking your loved ones to that spot and have a special moment. Whether it's beautiful icicles on trees, flowers in the park, a lovely patch of grass. Take a picnic, hot chocolate or a good book and take time to just relax and forget all your worries for a moment in time.

5. Give yourself the gift to relax and not get so stressed out. Did you know that most of us don't slot in time to do that so we end up getting sick, age or just live an unfulfilled life.

A Recession Christmas reminds us that it's not about the money you spend but the quality of life and love.
